Fairfield American is going to the Little League World Series after defeating South Portland, Maine 10-0 to win the New England Regional tournament Saturday at Breen Field at the A. Bartlett Giamatti Little League Leadership Training Center.

Fairfield, now 18-0 this tournament summer, will play the Mid-Atlantic Region champion, on Thursday at 3 p.m. in Williamsport.

Michael Iannazzo had a pair of two-run doubles, scoring twice and driving in four. Matt Vivona had a two-run double and Sean O’Neil added an RBI double and Christian Smith had a run-scoring single as Fairfield banged out 13 hits.

Starting pitcher Ethan Righter, allowed just four hits, while striking out nine in 4 1/3 innings. Tyler Bauer went the final inning and two-thirds.
